Pamela Rooney is a Canadian Country singer, songwriter, and guitarist focused on traditional themes with juust a bit of “Pamela” inserted. Born in Gaspé Quebec, Canada she started in 2005 by releasing her first album,with many traditional Country songs. In 2016 Pamela released her second album, Bring It on, with her own originals, and a little bit of Classic country, and New Country , with just a touch of her Irish origin. In 2019 and again in 2020 Pamela appeared on the 2nd oldest broadcasting radio (second only to The Grand Ol’ Opry), The Wheeling Jamboree in West Virginia at the Capital Theatre sharing the stage with one of her idols, Marty Stuart. In 2022 Pamela came out with her hit album, Storms Never Last , that climbed the charts all over the world including Ireland, Texas, England, Mexico, USA, Canada, Quebec, and many many more. In 2022 She performed at the Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards in Marshall, Texas, representing Canada. Out of many artist throughout many countries . Pamela brought back not one, but two awards, “Texas Spirit Artist of the Year” and “Texas Heritage Artist of the Year.” In 2023 Pamela once again was nominated for numerous awards. This time she came home with an award that she will never forget, “Entertainer of the Year!” A few months after that, Pamela awarded “Gold Record International” by Musique du Bout du Monde, in recognition of her hit song Country Ain’t Country Anymore.

Pamela was born and raised in Douglastown, a small town on the Gaspé coast, Quebec, Canada.
Her parents Bernard and Christina (Hackett)Rooney were a great influence in her music career because they played together in the band ”The Exceptions.” Bernard, her Dad played lead guitar, the fiddle and sang. Her mother played acoustic guitar and sang.
When Pamela was twelve years old she picked up the guitar and started to learn by watching her parent’s fingers as they played.
Pamela played in many bands and in 2012 she formed a band with some other musicians proudly using her parent’s band name, THE EXCEPTIONS.
Pamela is the youngest of a family of four, with two sisters ans one brother.
There was never a dull moment in the close knit Rooney family as they grew up sharing their love of music, hunting, and being together.
At four years old Pamela made her first appearence at the local St. Patrick’s concert, singing ”Sentimental Ol’You” by Charly McLain. Here she received her first standing ovation and she knew that her dream was to become a famous Country Singer.
In 2005 Pamela released her first album with many traditional Country songs including” Good Hearted Woman”, by Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash’s” Tennessee Flat Top” Box.
Pamela is greatly influenced by many traditional Country Singers such as Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, and George Jones.
In 2007 Pamela gave birth to her son Connor, a Country Boy in every sense of the word. He is following his mom’s footsteps by singing Johnny Cash’s hit, Ring of Fire on stage with her.
In 2014 Pamela posted a video on facebook singing Cherry Holmes’ Brand New Hearthache and in no time it was viewed 150,000 times and continued rising. Following this success Pamela started sharing the stage with some well know performers from Quebec and Canada such as Dani Daraiche, Irvin Blais, Maurice Béliveau, Brian Mallery, and Paul Dwayne to name a few.
In 2015 Pamela appeared on her first TV special with Mr. Viateur Caron and his daughter, Patricia ,on Pour L’Amour du Country, singing Rhonda Vincent’s Little Angels which also recorded and it became a hit.
In April 2016 Pamela went to Nashville to meet a producer and marketing manager exploring the possibility of writing songs together. While there she sang in some of the local bars.
In early May 2016 Pamela was invited to appear with Patrick Normand, Mario Pelchat, Paul Daraiche and Patricia Caron on Patrick Normand’s TV special Pour L’Amour du Country in Halifax NS.
Pamela released her second album ”Bring It On” in 2016 with some of her own songs. She has stayed busy ever since with a schedule that includes paid gigs, regional and national festivals, and has appeared three times at the Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards Festival.
Pamela also released a new album in 2021 with hits of classic country “Storms Never Last “ an album that she calls her roots of country music and all of her favourite songs .
In 2022 She preformed at the Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards in Marshall Texas as she represented Canada. Out of the many artists representing more than a dozen countries and won, not one, but 2 awards. In 2023 Pamela once again was nominated for numerous awards and came home with the title of Entertainer of the Year.
